समंदर की लहरें
वह बूदी शाम
एक मुस्कुराता चेहरा
लाल, गुलाबी गुब्बारे
गीली रेत की खुशबू
हवा में बहता- लहराता
लाल रेशमी दुपट्टा
बहती बेताब नज़रें
समझा उड़ते परिंदों को अपना
कभी कोई शाख, तो कभी
आसमा में गुम होगये कहीं…

काली रात के तेज सन्नाटे में
अंखियों में जुगनू सी चमक
बुझते कोयलों सी जलने की ललक
कुछ यादें चली आयीं कहीं से
खुशियों की धुंधली छाप
उन चेहरों के बीच चुप सी मैं ..

Waves of the ocean
An ageing twilight
A smiling face
Red, pink balloons
Fragrance of the wet sand
The flowing red scarf
A streaming restless gaze
Who thought of birds as friends
Often lost amidst the branches
Or the vastness of the sky…

Loud silence of the dark night
Fireflies shine in thy eyes
The embers’ strife to survive
Memories drifted of happier times
Blurred images of elated faces Amid them – a muted self
